The sheet
The pieces
Turn this off if the glass has a direction to it — a texture or a streak you want running the same way on every piece.
Added to every piece before laying them out, if you cut oversize and grind back to size.
What you get
The layout
Why the layout looks like that
Glass is scored and snapped, so every break runs the full width of whatever you are breaking. Each cut splits a rectangle clean in two, and that is all this tool will ever suggest.
A tighter layout is sometimes possible on paper — slotting a small piece into a pocket with glass on all four sides of it. You cannot cut that by hand, so it is not offered here. If you work with a ring saw and want those layouts, say so and they can be added.
Sheet sizes vary by supplier and glass gets sold in part sheets, so put in whatever you actually have in front of you rather than a catalogue size.
